The Tragedy of Julius Caesar is a history play and tragedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written in 1599. It is one of several plays written by Shakespeare based on true events from Roman history, which also include Coriolanus and Antony and Cleopatra. 2MG’s production of this classic play is a mixing of cultures and politics that shows that mankind everywhere is the same on may levels. Julius Caesar is as much a Nigerian story as any and while staying true to the words of the play, we introduce Shakespeare to Wakanda. This play will have a brief intermission.
